Custom marine dashboard panel
The existing boat panel and a new Garmin fish finder were captured and rebuilt in CAD, then integrated into a replacement panel that preserved the proven fit.

The problem
A real need in a specific operating environment.
A replacement marine dashboard panel needed to retain the fit of the existing wood panel while integrating a new Garmin display and preserving access to the surrounding installation.
The application
Designed around how the result would be used.
The finished part would live in a marine environment, so fit, sun exposure, moisture, mounting, and the interface with the new electronics all influenced the design.
The process

The manufacturing method followed the requirements of the application, not the other way around.

Capture the existing panel, surrounding geometry, and new display interface with digital measurement and 3D scanning.

Rebuild the useful geometry as clean, editable CAD and integrate the Garmin opening and mounting features.

Produce rough prototypes to check fit before committing to the final panel.

Manufacture the final part in UV-resistant ASA and validate the installed assembly.
The final product
Scan-to-CAD solution.
The replacement dashboard panel preserves the established fit while cleanly integrating the new display in a durable, manufacturable part.
